I have had severe psoriasis for 13 years now. I feel very strange about my body – I find exposing my skin embarrassing and it is very tiresome to have to constantly worry about hiding it or camouflaging it. It’s really difficult to have to adapt clothes, accessories and hair styles to cover the sores on my body. We live in a society where few people understand the illness and often ask questions which are not easy to answer. Having psoriasis definitely affects my self esteem.
I find it absolutely necessary to educate about what the disease is and to communicate that many people suffer from it. Its important for people to know that we can have a good quality of life despite the challenges we face.
I wanted to be part of this Psoriasis: The Naked Truth to show off my body just as it, without any shame and to show that even with psoriasis we can be beautiful.
